Fibroscan 630 Expert
The FibroScan 630 Expert is Echosens' flagship system for non-invasive liver assessment. It uses Vibration-Controlled Transient Elastography (VCTE) for liver stiffness measurement and the Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP) for steatosis assessment, with a full-size console designed for high-volume hepatology services.

The FibroScan 630 Expert is the flagship non-invasive liver assessment system from Echosens. It is designed for hepatology departments and specialist liver clinics that carry out a high volume of examinations and want the most complete FibroScan feature set.
What is the FibroScan 630 Expert?
It is a console-based device that uses Vibration-Controlled Transient Elastography (VCTE) to estimate liver stiffness (kPa) and the Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP) to assess liver steatosis (dB/m). The two results come from one short, non-invasive examination.
How it works
A probe on the skin over the liver delivers a controlled mechanical vibration; the system measures the propagation speed of the resulting shear wave, which increases with tissue stiffness. The examination involves no needles, contrast or sedation, and the operator receives results immediately.
Where it is used
- Specialist hepatology and liver clinics managing chronic liver disease of all causes
- Structured follow-up and treatment-response monitoring where repeatable, non-invasive measurement matters
- Multidisciplinary metabolic and viral hepatitis pathways
Clinical use and limitations
FibroScan is a decision-support tool. Interpretation cut-offs are aetiology-specific and defined by current clinical guidelines, and certain patient factors can reduce measurement reliability. All results should be reviewed by a qualified clinician in the context of the complete assessment.
