What does the A200 module do?
The A200 is the impedance acquisition module of the ManoScan™ modular cart system. It is the electronic control box that interfaces with the manometry catheter to acquire impedance data, working alongside the base A120 pressure module to enable measuring pressure and impedance together, using catheters designed for combined pressure-impedance studies (such as the ManoScan ESO Z catheter).
Why measure impedance alongside pressure?
Adding impedance to a manometry study lets the system track bolus movement (e.g. swallowed liquid or food) through the esophagus alongside the pressure measurements, giving a fuller picture of both the motor function and the transit of the bolus during the study.
